Mock interview. You're interviewing for a data analyst job on a social app's growth team. The interviewer shares the logins table, one row each time someone opens the app. "Let's check how sticky the app was in March."

  • MAU (monthly active users): people who logged in at least once in the month.
  • DAU (daily active users): people who logged in on a given day. Average it over the days of the month.
  • Stickiness = average DAU / MAU. It answers "on a typical day, what share of our monthly users show up?"

Step 1: The headline numbers

"Give me March 2026 in one row: MAU, average DAU and stickiness."

Expected output

  • One row; avg_dau rounded to 1 decimal; stickiness as a percentage rounded to 1 decimal

Example of the shape (made-up values):

mau avg_dau stickiness
400 80.0 20.0
