Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Data Coding, operated by DataCase ("we", "us", "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and sign-in method (for example Google), through our sign-in provider, Clerk.
- Learning progress: which exercises and problems you've solved, the XP they earned, the days you practised, and whether you viewed an answer before solving.
- Membership information: whether you have Pro, your plan's status and renewal or end date, and the reference numbers Paddle gives us for your subscription.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request, which our hosting and service providers process to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Messages you send us, such as support emails.
We don't store your password (Clerk handles sign-in) and we never see your payment card details (Paddle collects and processes them).
Code you write stays in your browser
The SQL and Python code you write runs inside your own browser. We don't receive or store it. Drafts are saved only in your browser's local storage, on your device.
How we use it
- to create and run your account and save your progress;
- to provide Pro membership and process payments through Paddle;
- to answer your messages and give support;
- to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems;
- to send emails about your account or membership, such as receipts and important changes;
- to meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we rely on to run the Service, and only what they need:
- Paddle: our reseller and Merchant of Record, for payments, billing, tax and billing questions.
- Clerk: sign-up and sign-in.
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare): serving the website.
- Neon: the database that stores your learning progress.
- jsDelivr: delivers the open-source Python engine your browser downloads to run Python code, and so sees your IP address.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or to a buyer of our business. We don't sell your personal information.
Where it's stored
Our providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from yours. We choose providers that protect information appropriately.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress while your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your progress, except records we must keep for tax, legal or accounting reasons, such as payment records kept by Paddle.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember your theme, your code drafts and a copy of your progress. Paddle sets its own cookies when you check out. We don't use advertising cookies. If we add analytics, we'll update this policy first.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing datacodingsupport@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act give you these rights, and you may also complain to your privacy regulator.
Children
The Service isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no website or storage system is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted here with a new date.
